The traveling decipherer
The Walking Decipherer is a show inspired by "The Library of Babel" by JL Borges. In this work, Anna Villacampa, Joel Beltrán, Davor Pomir and Enrique Thompson explore human transcendence through music and dance.
The old librarian, played by Joel Beltrán, the searcher, played by Davor Pomir, and the purifier, played by Enrique Thompson, accompany the traveling decipherer, a character briefly mentioned by Borges.
In a single act divided into six scenes, the characters establish musical and choreographic dialogues that decipher and reflect their surroundings. The staging includes a grand piano where the librarian, the seeker, and the purifier sit, while the decipherer, seated in a chair in front of a large metallic crimson hexagon, performs her percussive language.
This show invites a deep reflection on existence and knowledge in Borges' vast universe.
